Rogue River, OR (August 2025) – Wagner Meters, a leading manufacturer of wood moisture measurement technology for over 60 years, proudly announces the launch of the new L5300 Industrial Hand-held Wood Moisture Meter (replacing the current L622 model), an advanced moisture measurement solution engineered to enhance performance, streamline workflows, and deliver precise insights for lumber producers, sawmills, and kiln operations.

The L5300 features visual histogram readings, a bright backlit screen for use in dark kilns or storage areas, and a customizable species list. It’s also compatible with Wagner’s L722 Lumber Stack Probe, allowing users to detect hidden moisture deep within stickered stacks, which will help reduce drying defects, improve quality control, and prevent costly rework.

What sets the L5300 apart is its seamless integration with Wagner’s new WoodStat Pro software, which enables users to import, analyze, and report moisture data with ease. WoodStat Pro transforms raw readings into actionable insights with histograms, statistical summaries, and customizable reporting tools. All this empowers lumber professionals to make smarter decisions, faster.

Additional features include a color display, a customizable species list, and the ability to now store up to 1,000 readings across 100 groups. Built to perform in demanding environments, the L5300 is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance and includes a USB port for fast data transfer.

For customers who do not need to measure moisture deep within stickered stacks of lumber or utilize advanced software integration, Wagner also offers the L5200 model. The L5200 delivers the same trusted accuracy and durability as the L5300 but in a simplified design, which is ideal for precise moisture readings that do not require the added connectivity or stack probe functionality.
